Assignment Name: New Petrol Station – Design and Supervision

Electrical design, instrumentation configuration and SCADA tie –in to existing.

Worked as the Resident Engineers for Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation in supervision duties. Main Objectives being; to confirm that all work was carried to Specifications and Standards as detailed in the design. The following tasks were witnessed in order to achieve this.

1. Material inspection including plates, pipes, pumps and wrapping material.
2. Supervising hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
3. Ensuring that surface preparation and paint application are carried out to specifications
4. Witnessing pipe wrapping and holiday testing
5. Cable laying tasks for both Power and Control between the Switch room/Control room and the equipment in the field and signed off once all tests were done to BS 7671.
6. Calibration of all instruments.
7. Installation of Enraf tank gauging system and commissioning.
8. Installation of an upgraded Earth system to BS 7430.
9. Installation and commissioning of an addressable Fire Control System.

The other objective was to vet all Work Procedures as drawn by the contractor to ensure that they are safe and supervise compliance to the same on site.
